Media Specialist (Photographer)

Our troop maintains a social media and internet presence. Photography is a key part of these communication strategies.

Generally, a Media Specialist handles tasks on an assignment basis, as opposed to being responsible for every post or event. These assignments may be proposed by the specialist, or may be accepted from requests from other parts of the troop leadership.

Qualifications

Core Duties

  • Create photographs of troop meetings and activities for documentary and publicity purposes.
  • Assist in collecting and culling photographs from events.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Ensure content shared to the public reflects troop values and is consistent with our privacy policies.
  • Engaging in proactive planning so that content can be created contemporaneously with events.

Timing of Duties

  • A Media Specialist does not have weekly duties at troop meetings. He may need to attend any given meeting due to project responsibilities.

  • Some duties of a Media Specialist (Photographer) are completed outside of the meeting time.

  • Media Specialists are encouraged to attend campouts and activities to inform a practical understanding of the ministry's operations.
